Where you’ll be
Make Casa Vista your next vacation home! Enjoy our pool, beach, SUP, kayaking or take a boat ride to the village! We are truly on the beach. No roads or pathways between you and the beach. Take 12 steps from our home until your toes are in the water and your butt is in the sand. AC in both bedrooms. Smart TVs in bedrooms and the living room. Comfortable pullout couch in the living room.
The space
Come to Casa Vista for your next vacation! Our home features 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a large kitchen, beach, pool, outdoor dining and roof deck that can accommodate up to 16 guests. Enjoy our beachfront breeze and AC in every room. The ocean is less than 30 steps from the house. Experience the “go slow” lifestyle of Caye Caulker. In the middle of the turquoise Caribbean, this tiny island has no vehicles except golf carts, and you can easily walk the whole island barefoot.
We live on the secluded north side of Caye Caulker which was separated from the south by a 100’ channel that was naturally dredged over time. Until 2017, the north part of Caye Caulker was off the grid, but we now have electricity, water, and a few restaurants/bars, as well as convenience stores. From here, it takes 5 minutes by boat to get to the south part of the island where you’ll find grocery stores, juice bars, laundries, restaurants, bars and music. On site caretakers ensure that any problems are quickly resolved and repairs are made promptly. They can answer your questions about the house and the island. Additionally, we can arrange for a captain to take your group to town on the other side of the Split, a 5-minute boat ride.
Guest access
To get to the property you can fly from BZE airport to Caye Caulker on Maya Airlines. The price is generally around $100 USD each way per person. You can also take a 25 minute taxi to either San Pedro Belize Express or Caribbean Sprinter and take a 45-60 minute boat ride to Caye Caulker. Depending on your group size it should cost around $25 USD total each way for the Taxi and ferry per person.
Once on Caye Caulker you can make a reservation with Split to Split Ferry to have a boat take you directly to our dock for around $10 per person. Alternatively, you can take a golf cart taxi to the Split and take a ferry across and walk or bike about 1 KM north to our house for around $5 USD per person.
We will send info for taxis and ferry's if you have anyone with limited mobility or for when you have luggage that is not easy to walk with. 1 mile gets you across the split and to the end of the main village. We can arrange access to bikes upon request. To the north of us within a 10 minute walk there are multiple shops and restaurants. The main shop for groceries on the north side is just north of the split which is about an 8 minute walk. The caretaker can do occasional shopping runs for anything specific you need.
Guests will have access to the common area kitchen, dining room & living room. They can enjoy sunsets from our roof deck and sunrises from our lower deck and beach. There are plenty of activities onsite including SUPs, kayak, fishing, and our pool. We have laundry, but check with caretaker for permission and instructions.
Other things to note
Is Casa Vista Belize the right fit for you and your group? Thank you for your interest in our property! We want to ensure that all our guests understand the basics of our home before booking, so here is a little information to assist you and your group.
Caretakers:
This environment is highly corrosive and requires continual maintenance. Their job is to ensure that all components of the home are functioning and to fix anything in need of repair. They are also there to assist you during your stay with any questions you may have about the house.
Activities Onsite:
We offer SUPs and Kayaks for you to use in and near the property. Due to past guests damaging this costly equipment, we ask that you seek guidance from our caretakers on how to use them correctly so that you and the equipment remain safe. There is also fishing gear that you may use around the property as well.
The 43’ X 8’ lap pool is 4’ deep and has a kid’s pool attached. You can also swim in the ocean and we are 5-minute walk from a pristine secluded beach that is usually empty, but won’t be a secret for long. While on the ocean we also have a very shallow lagoon in front of us with makes swimming not ideal.
Electricity & Water:
We collect and utilize rainwater whenever feasible, and use public water during our dry season. The water coming from the taps is not potable but we have a bottled water attached to the fridge's water dispenser located in the kitchen for your cooking and consumption needs.
The outdoor showers remain our favorite! Our goal is to ensure that you and your group are delighted with your stay. We love the privacy of our remote location, and hope you will too.
Our goal is ensure that you and your group will be happy at our home. Please carefully consider the information about our home when making your booking decision. We love our remote location and privacy, but with that comes details that are important for each guest to consider:-)
